This course is designed as an introduction to the CBAFF Customs UUI course. Anyone who does not have at least 12 months working experience in the New Zealand Customs Broking Industry is strongly recommended to first attend this course before they attempt the UUI Course. The Introduction course will provide you with the knowledge needed to confidently participate in the UUI Course.

This module introduces key industry participants, border agencies, legislation, documentation, Incoterms, and the role customs brokers play in supporting compliant trade

Learn how the Trade Single Window (TSW) supports electronic border lodgement and cargo reporting in New Zealand. This module covers TSW registration, declarant responsibilities, key message types, and the legal obligations associated with digital Customs transactions.

Explore the purpose, structure, and practical application of the Customs and Excise Act 2018. This module provides an overview of the legislation that underpins border control, revenue collection, and trade compliance in New Zealand.

Develop an operational understanding of how goods physically move through New Zealand’s border environment. This module examines border agencies, biosecurity systems, Transitional Facilities, Cargo Terminal Operators, Import Health Standards, and risk management processes such as BMSB controls.
