Virtual Classroom - Transitional Facility Operator Training Part 1
All Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) approved transitional facilities must have a certified Transitional Facility Operator (TF Operator), and in some cases a Deputy TF Operator, to maintain overall responsibility for Biosecurity activities at their business. A TF Operator is the designated person whose name appears on the Ministry for Primary Industries Certificate of Approval as a Transitional Facility and Operator. (All prices include a MPI Levy)
Description
This virtual classroom will be an interactive course with our trainer. We run these real-time courses just like normal events but over the internet. You are able to ask our trainers questions and interact as you would in a standard course.
You must have a computer or laptop with a web cam and speakers or headphones to be able to log on and complete this course.
A major part of the process to gain approval as a TF Operator is completing a Ministry for Primary Industries course. IVS offers an approved TF Operator course which promotes and reinforces Biosecurity awareness, helps participants understand their legal requirements as an Operator, and gives invaluable assistance with putting Biosecurity measures in place at their facility.
Our full day course focuses on:
-
The responsibilities of a TF Operator and the importance of their role in the Biosecurity chain
-
The compliance framework with an overview of relevant legislation, regulation and standards
-
Preparing or updating Biosecurity operating procedures
-
Passing on practical advice and experience from both the trainer and other TF Operators at the course.
Course participants gain new knowledge and skills required to effectively operate an approved transitional facility. The Certificate of Training is valid for 2 years before refresher training is required.
Under the TFGEN Standard, some transitional facilities are required to have a trained Deputy TF Operator onsite providing cover when the primary operator is not present. This course is also suitable for the Deputy operator.
Course discounts apply if your business is a member of the IVS Biosecurity Support Programme (BSP).
